Data Submission

All external parties have the opportunity to contribute to the database with their own genomic data if they get through quality, quantitative and regulatory requirements in order to ensure adequate uniformity and homogeneity levels.

The database enlargement is essential for making it richer and more accurate in estimating variant frequencies in the Italian population, in order to use it at best for functional predictions of the same variants

    Privacy & Confidentiality

    The NIG is committed to treating the data in the NIG-db for scientific and statistical research activities only, aimed at the protection of the concerned party ‘s health , third parties or the general public health in the medical, biomedical and epidemiological field, or for scientific research activity aimed at developing genetic analyses.

    Data will be processed in full compliance with the regulations contained in GDPR 2016/679 (jurisdiction concerning personal data protection), with general laws and the Authority provisions for personal data protection. The NIG-db will only publish aggregate variant frequencies from a pool of data provided by the submitters.
